KILGORE - Longview's High School's Lobos looked like champions here Friday night as they ran wild to triumph, 48 to 7, over the Kilgore High School Bulldogs in a District 9 game.
Don Fambrough, Lobo fullback, led the Pack by scoring three touchdowns and kicking six extra points for a total of 24 points. He missed one try for extra point. Captain Hardy Miller was another offensive star. He passed for several touchdowns and scored one. Sapp, Worsham, Knox scored a touchdown apiece. Kilgore's lone marker came in the second period after Country Hallmark raced thirty-seven yards to Longview's 9. Hallmark passed to Terry Bauske for a touchdown and Glen Lee converted. Longview scored early in the opening period. Sapp and Miller put the ball in position and Sapp went over. The Lobos scored twice in the second period. Worsham passed thirty-five yards to Miller for a score, and Miller passed to Fambrough for the other. After a scoreless third period, Longview began a four-touchdown march. Worsham raced nine yards to score the first. Miller passed thirty yards to Knox for the second. Fambrough got loose for nine yards for the third, and Scott passed to Fambrough for the final score. Kilgore made seven first downs to fourteen for Longview. |
