LONGVIEW - Handicapped by a muddy field and by visiting scouts, the Loboes were held scoreless in the last period by the Henderson aggression after they had made four touchdowns to win by a score of 25 to 0.
The game was slow and featureless except for the brilliant running of James and the flashy tackles of H. Mills. There were many fumbles, Henderson did not threaten to score. Mills made Longview's first touchdown after the ball had been advanced to the three yard line. The second touchdown came before the second period was five minutes old when James took the ball off tackle 15 yards and won for extra. As the first half came to a close, James passed to Rowaned and Longview advanced the ball to the five yard line. As the whistle blew, James hit the line for the score. In the third period, James passed to Rogers who ran 10 yards for the final touchdown of the game. Longview completed four passes out of five attempts and Henderson completed four passes out of eight attempts. Longview made 13 first downs and Henderson made three. |
