WACO - Revenge was on the mind the entire season for the 2009 Lobos, following a disappointing end to the 2008

With a senior laden squad, the Lobos hit the ground running by upsetting the 2008 5A Division I State Champions, Allen, in a 28-25 season opening win. The win set the tone for the season, as Longview rolled to another district crown. Despite an early season loss to Lufkin, Longview would go on to win their next 11 in a row to set up the rematch everyone wanted.
